RW 7 FTP is a Nightmare (for me*)

I have a large site (www.coldwarspies.com) and haven’t been able to update the website using RW. It gets about 1/3 of the files uploaded then fails. I have to use Transmit to drag and drop files to the server. I would like to use RW to do this. Is this a bug? Please advise.

I’ve been using RW7 since the first beta versions and apart from a few beta hiccups I haven’t had any great problems and certainly not recently. Have you tried changing the Mode to Active or changing the Connections speed to a lower one?

Please take a look and see whether the ftp always fails at exactly the same place, that is - when ftp’ing the same file.

Did you already try the mode “Extended Passive” in the FTP-settings of RapidWeaver?

I have been using RW 7 for quite some time and I would like to say I am surprised to see such a header as the original OP posted. I have had no problems with four different projects on two different servers since the first or second beta version. Recently not on glitch along the way. I would suggest perhaps there is some user error to some other issue, but not with RW 7.

The VAST majority of users have experience better ftp performance with Rapidweaver 7. If you’re having an issue, please email support@realmacsoftware.com and we’ll work with you to find the cause and solution.

Thank you for changing the headline. I am still trying to discover why I am having an issue. Other sites are working fine with FTP.

When I uploaded to Rapidweaver 7 I was having an issue uploading via Rapidweaver FTP too, this was a new issue for me, never had a problem before. It seemed to resolve itself after I deleted the secondary destination (I had 2 set up, one for the dummy site and then one for the live area). Once the live area ftp was the only option, the FTP worked fine, don’t know if that was why though!

I have never been able to use RW to upload since 6. Couldn’t figure out why. Transmit or Cyberduck are my go to programs.

same issue here, after months of back and forth with support large project still does not publish. Wait for the next beta or update is all I ever hear back… RW 7 was meant to fix publishing , now 7.1 will cure my problem… we will see.
