Hi,
i am trying to move 3 sites from AWS Linux 2 to AL2023.
I managed that on the AWS side.
But the new machine is not accepting sftp access. I can SSH into it, I have updated the known-host file (if that is read by rapidweaver).
I also get an error when I try to register the private key, saying, unable to safe path to private key. I chmod 600 it, then this works at least. It should be 400 for other programs.
Any hints?
I just reassociated the “old” instance to the IP… and there it works.
So it seems it is some setting on the AWS side that does not work>
The two instances run the the same security groups, so same ports open etc.
Might there be a firewall on one instance which I have to switch off?
Checked again
[1] Connected to 15.XXXXXXXXXXX (15.XXXXXXXXXX) port 22 (#0)
[1] SSH MD5 fingerprint: 8fc10fefda9562f3c005d49577866741
[1] SSH authentication methods available: publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic
[1] Using SSH private key file ‘/Users/pcfminihome/Desktop/PaXXr.pem’
[1] SSH public key authentication failed: Username/PublicKey combination invalid
[1] Authentication failure
[1] Closing connection 0
But connecting to the old instance works like a charm. ? Where do I have to meddle?
