Site won't even attempt to publish

Everything was going great, then all of a sudden I get an error message “This page is currently empty. Please insert some HTML or apply your default theme to the page using the Page Inspector options and try previewing again.”

(and the pages are by no means empty)

Can you get the earlier version out of Time Machine?
