Why do we need Foundry and Stacks? Seems like they do pretty much the same things.
They don’t do the same things. But … to use Foundry then you need to have stacks installed first.
You can use Stacks only, but then you’ll be much more limited in your design options. That’s just fine for some folks. So you don’t “need” Foundry. But if you want to add greater flexibility and power to your designs then Foundry is a fantastic tool to have.
