Hi, for an unknown reason, one of our project cannot preview most of the pages. Some pages take more 10mn to preview! No new plugins were installed. RW version 7.5.6. We’re using RW for 10 years, this project has never had such a problem. Nothing special in the console log. As another problem, another project cannot be published via FTP (but on local yes). The FTP settings are exactly the same as another project. The project settings seems to be corrupted. The RW support didn’t help us (can’t they accept our upload and investigate our project seriously?!). Today, as on old customer, we have our 2 projects that cannot be used correctly, and one is impossible to update. Fedup with RW.
Perhaps @dan could have a look. For the ftp: could you delete the publishing setting and add a total new one? For the delay: is anything fetched from the internet, like scripts, images, fonts or else? Sometimes this takes extremely long and it is best practice to use everything local…
Thanks for the answer, but I already delete all the the FTP settings, retry, and checked several times the difference between the other project that work.
For the delay, nothing has changed in the project, no pages were added, no plugin were added, and we have a good bandwith >100Mo/s. It’s installed on the same Mac for several years, and it works like a charme with high processing tasks (3D). The only reason we see could be a new version of the 7.x.
I see. Did you delete the ftp setting or just the contents within the setting?
Has removed the ftp settings by : Publishing Setup -> Remove.
The strange thing is the “Test” button shows that the credentials are ok.
And also, again, another project has exactly the same SFTP settings, and works. Same Mac, same version of RW. The error message displays
“Remote file not found. URL: sftp://home202266863.1and1-data.host”
but the this is exactly the same host for the working project.
For the ftp issue:
what happens when you hit test?
If test doesn’t work then it’s probably the credentials (username, password or server name).
If test works then clear everything from the path and hit browse button.
That should pull up a file/directory listing like finder. Select the directory appropriate for your host/site.
Without more information like, hosting company name, screenshots of the publishing settings and any error messages, it’s hard to say what might be happening with publishing.

What version MacOS are you using? Did you upgrade the OS?

Yes, to the online site, since I probably don’t have the same plugins, addons as you, the project file might not help me much.

I’m unable to load all pages as I don’t have "symFlowPlayer or RW symNivo plugins. I’m also missing some stacks that you are using(like all the Bar-z stacks).
Now the only page that I seem to have every thing for is the home page.
On the home page that I’m able to get up and running fully, I’m experiencing previews to around 1.2 seconds. Now we probably have hardware differences,
I was able to speed preview up to almost instantaneously by removing the stuff you have added to the page in the head section for the “SmartSupp Live Chat”. That seems to be slowing preview down quite a bit. Since that “live chat” is Javascript, I also moved it from the head section and put it in the body area. It works fine and was faster at rendering the page.
It’s not a very complete test as I don’t have the plugins and stacks that you do.
As for the publishing issue, I can’t do much with testing the other project file. I don’t have nor want the publishing settings stored in your keychain.
You can post screenshots here of the publishing settings (make sure to hide the password).
Thanks for your effort. The symFlowPlayer & Nivo plugins issues were not a problem. I have this message since several years, without any problem. The main problem comes from the preview mode that is unusable in several pages. I decided to download the trial version of the RW version8, upgrade and… it works! All the pages load fast in preview mode, the issue has disappeared. So the bug comes from one of the version of RW7.xx. We will buy the new 8.x version, but it’s not a good/fair solution.
