WeaverPix Plug-in

I have put off updating to Catalina and have now discovered that one of my plug-ins is not compatible with Catalina. This is the Chillidog Weaver Pix plug-in. Greg, you said in a post back in Oct '19: “we do have plans for a new WeaverPix stack that’ll bring that creative functionality and new ideas for your gallery needs. We’ll keep you posted!”
Just wondering when we might get to purchase the new plug-in/stack so I can replace the original one and finally upgrade to Catalina.

Let’s tag Greg @barchard.

Thanks, I meant to do that.

Not hearing anything from @barchard on this, I searched for another way to do what I need to do and found that I could use Nick Cates “photo” stack. However, since Nick Cates is no longer doing RW stacks I’m afraid that I’m going to have to keep searching.
Can anyone recommend a stack that will show a gallery of thumbnails with a text label for each thumbnail and when you click on a thumbnail, it shows a larger photo with text description of the photo.
TIA
Mary

and there’s always a favourite of mine - Montage 2 - https://www.doobox.co.uk/stacks_store/demos/montage2.html

@robbeattie thanks for the suggestion of Montage2. I actually like both Montage and Gallery Stack3 but it doesn’t look like either of them allow for much text to be added on the image when opened in the light box. They each allow a “title” but I need to add a few sentences of text.
What I’m working on is a gallery of cats and kittens available for adoption and I’d like to have the gallery of all available with their name on the photo as a “title” and then when you click on the thumbnail, the larger photo opens with a description of the cat of kitten. I don’t think I can do that with either of these stacks. Or am I missing something?

You could do that with Big White Duck’s Limelight I reckon. It’s a very versatile lightbox. You could use your image and caption as a trigger and then have the larger photo and caption (as long as you like) open in the lightbox. You’d have to populate it ‘by hand’ though, but once you’ve done one, it would be a copy and paste job into a couple of partials.

@robbeattie, that sounds like a good solution. I have BWD’s limelight and have used it just once but I see what you are getting at. I’ll give that a try.

That’s a perfect use case for Poster 2.

@instacks sounds like I had better check out poster2 also. Thanks for suggesting.
