Where to paste API and Secret?

Hello,

Can anyone advise me on where to paste the Paypal Sandbox API and Secret code in RapidCart please?

Here are the directions: https://tls.4gnd.com/rw/rapidcartpro/manual/#set-up-payment-methods

Here is a screenshot of where to paste the Paypal codes. So itā€™s RCP > Cart > Payment

Hello,

Thank you for the reply. That does look easy, but unfortunately I donā€™t have the Pro version, just RapidCart.

In my ā€˜checkoutā€™ option, (which is next to ā€˜cartā€™ options) I have ā€˜Enable PayPal,ā€™ and ā€˜Enable Sandbox,ā€™ but I donā€™t have ā€˜API Client IDā€™ or ā€˜API Secret.ā€™

It should be there somewhere, but who knows?!

Awaiting in anticipation.

I have checked this out previously when Googling for a solution, but thank you anyway, it has some good info on.

Hereā€™s some old documentation for Rapicart 3 (which Iā€™m presuming is your version): http://help.4gnd.com/kb/rapidcart-manual/setting-up-rapidcart-with-paypal-account

From looking at the documentation in the post by @jabostick it looks like RC3 doesnā€™t use the Paypal API and Secret code. All that you enter is the email address associated with your Paypal account.

@pottedwires where did you see the directions that say that you paste the Paypal Sandbox API and Secret code into RC3? You are correct that they are used for RCP, but I donā€™t see them mentioned at all in the RC3 docs or screenshots.

Perhaps someone using RC3 can chime in and sort it?

[edit: typo for RCP3 > RC3]

RCP3? I have RC3! Anyway, yep good point. I canā€™t remember if I have seen directions to paste into RC3, but I have seen

ā€˜How to get PayPal Api username, password and signature informationā€™

ā€˜Copy and paste the API username, password, and signature into your shopping cartā€™s configuration or administration screen.ā€™

Paypal messages have been ā€˜issuesā€™ setting up my Sandbox Test Accounts, but seems ok now.
Iā€™m still working on it, so hopefully just entering the email address will be fine in the future.

Thank you

Sorry the RCP3 was a typo. I understand you have RC3.

But i havenā€™t seen this in the documentation for RC3 - only for RCP:

ā€˜How to get PayPal Api username, password and signature informationā€™

ā€˜Copy and paste the API username, password, and signature into your shopping cartā€™s configuration or administration screen.ā€™

So my question was where did you see that pertaining to RC3?

Yep, checked that out previously, and your previous help post about APIs. (even though it was for RCP)

Hope to work through it, still learning.

Thank you

Thatā€™s ok. Apologies, no I canā€™t remember if I have seen it pertaining to RC3. Iā€™ve just been grasping at straws it seems.

Good luck.

If @rob is still kicking around these parts, maybe he can let us know. I had RC3 in my library but by the time I got around to using it, RCP had come out and I just upgraded so I havenā€™t tried your methodā€¦

Thank you. Yes, I did download the trial version of RCP, but it seemed like I would need to relearn a lot at the time. I guess I should upgrade at some point.

They stopped updating RC3 quite a while ago. Itā€™s really sad that 4gnd seems to be having some serious problems as theyā€™ve not been present here in the forum and apparently havenā€™t been responding to support requests for some time. RCP is a great program and has worked flawlessly for me on a client site for over a year.

I can only imagine that they are having some very bad problems as otherwise why would they be so absent from communicating with their clientele? It would be a great loss for the RW community if RCP is abandoned. It would be most helpful if @rob or @gibo could check in a give us all a heads up. Previously their support was quite good and they were releasing updates around twice a month. :worried:

Yep

Hereā€™s an update

Iā€™ve entered my email address in the correct place as shown in the guides below for RapidCart, and Iā€™m still not getting it to work. Not sure why, but will post back if I ever figure it out!

Sorry, we are catching up with support requests.

Just to clarify.
Are you using RapidCart 3 (the ā€œhistoricā€ non-responsive plugin) or RapidCart Pro 4 (new, just updated and fully reponsive)?

Hello,

Thank you for the reply.

I am using RapidCart 3. Soā€¦non-responisve? Does that mean the RapidCart 3 cart isnā€™t going to work?

Iā€™m still having difficulty in PayPal set up. Iā€™d like to know where the problem is. Iā€™m trying to sort it
with PayPal also, incase itā€™s in my set up there.

Quite frankly, not a clue at present.

Any help would be appreciated. I have looked at the RapidCart link previously, thank you anyway.

RapidCart 3 works, but itā€™s not responsive.
This means itā€™s not mobile-ready (if the theme is).

Please read RapidCart 3 documentation.

You just need to use your PayPal account.
PayPal API credentials are not required in RapidCart 3.

oh ok! Thanks for clarifying.
