Is there a plan to support WEBP image files any time soon?
Most of my existing image assets are in WEBP format, so to use them in Elements I have been converting them to JPG. It would be good to have to support for WEBP.

I just tried using webp images in the latest Elements beta and it appears to work. AVIF sort of works, but the sizing/aspect ratio is wrong (it’s squished).
Interesting I had tried it a few weeks back and it didn’t work. Just tried it again and it appears to work.
AVIF and WebP are not supported in the Image Component (yet).
However, we will add support, either in the Image Component or as separate Component(s) depending on what options they require.
Might be worth posting a feature request to get others voting on it
