I somehow have stacks showing up as not installed, even though they are shown in the stacks library when I have a project open. I have learned that RW7 can be confused if there are different older versions of RW installed on the system. I din’t think I had that, but I do Both RW5, RW6 and RW7. it is not installed via Setapp.
When I go to the add-ons location in:
~/Library/Containers/com.realmacsoftware.rapidweaver/Data/Library/Application Support
I have a list of folders, including two named Rapidweaver and Rapidweaver 7. The others are foldes for some other stacks, but these folders are empty. See image below:
All my stacks, plugins and themes are in the folder named Rapidweaver, in the Rapidweaver 7 folder are only 3 log files and two other files named paddata.padl and queue.pak.
It is a common misconception that double clicking a stack is the correct way to install it. This may have been the way it was supposed to work years ago, but it is not reliable.
To properly install stacks, you need to drag and drop the stack onto the RW icon in your dock.
Restart RW and you should see the freshly installed stack(s).
It may be better/easier to just drop all those other add-ons onto the RapidWeaver 7 icon too, rather than trying to transfer them to the proper folder. Let RW handle that.
