Desktop, yes…IOS no | Impact Video is a no show

I am redesigning my home page, and experiencing the most bizarre problem.

The issue involves the combination of Screens, Impact for video, and an MP4.

The video shows up in Preview, shows up on all four browsers on my iMac, but refuses to cooperate on either the iPad or iPhone.

The page is pomelopress.com/test

After the first failure, I converted the MP4 several times to MP4 again, thinking that perhaps there was some weirdness with the original clip. But the problem remained.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I believe this is because Impact is essentially autoplaying a video and IOS forbids that. It’s an iOS limitation

If that were so, then Joe’s Impact site (preview.joeworkman.net) wouldn’t work either. But it does, and it is definitely autoplaying video.

That is just an image with Ken Burns effect, if we’re looking at the same page.

Re Ken Burns: Yeah, I just realized that, just before. It looks like you’re right, as the next page (Layout) is static.

I sure wish I would have known about the IOS limitation before wasting so much time.

But thank you.
