Embedding links into paragraph text

Is there a way to embed links into to paragraph text?

What I would like to be able to do is riff about a topic and within the paragraph distinguish keywords that link to more specific discussions about the topic. So far the only way I have discovered to produce links is as part a linked list.

Is there a way to just lasso a specific word within a paragraph of text and somehow signal to the user that this text will take them to another page?

highlight (select)(the word and click the link icon, that will open the link dialog box.
