Favicon and webclip max resolution

Yes, I want my webpage to look as nice and sharp as I can. So please, could anyone tell me the max resolution for favicon and Web Clip. It used to be 16x16 icon for favicon and 57x57 jpg/png for Web Clip but with retina devices it may grow up to 32x32 icon and 144x144.

Apple’s guidelines suggest 180x180 as the resolution for WebClip icons:

Favicon’s are normally 16x16, but for retina hardware (MacBook Pro w/Retina Display) you’d want them at 32x32.
