I am in the process of migrating from Adobe Muse to RapidWeaver 8.
I am not a professional website designer. I own & manage a custom cabinet shop.
One of the things I would like to do is develop a series of youtube videos for how to measure your own space and install my cabinets. I would like to also feature a series of videos to help guide customers through the design process. (If I can make their life easier a lot of the pain will go away for both of us.)
I would like to have a user interface similar to Netlix where customers could go to one page, click on a topic and get a short preview.
Is there a way to do this without adding a lot of unnecessary weight to the file size?
I am new to the concept of stacks. Is this the kind of thing a stack would do for me?
Then you can search for suitable stacks from various developers. I know, it sounds confusing first because of the same name, but you get hold of it fast. We have a great community here to help you. A good place to start is using search here on Forum and also here: https://rapidweavercommunity.com
Your ‘Netflix’ idea reminded me of Joe Workmans’s Video Wall Stack. There are many other solutions but that one I have my self and it has great features. You can simply use your own YouTube or Vimeo channel and use those videos easily via Video Wall on your site. Because it plays videos from your Youtube channel it does not add weight as such on your site. Also, you can make visible video library on your site where customers can browse through, choose a video to play, and if they choose to scroll down while playing a video it static player will follow and keep playing. Take a look introduction video and demo at: https://joeworkman.net/rapidweaver/stacks/video-wall/
Granted, it’s not as pretty as some of the other solutions put forward already. I don’t have a Netflix account currently, so I’m not 100% sure how they are showing video content. However uTubeChannel works reliably, is relatively user friendly and there are a couple of style parameters you can change. It’s a free download.
