Moving RW6 to a new Computer with RW8

Hi All,

I’d really appreciate a little advice here.

I want to move an old RW6 website from a 10.9 Maverick iMac to my 10.12 Sierra laptop, already running RW8/Stacks 3 for my professional website.

I copied the “Rapid Weaver” folder that contains themes, stacks, plugins, snippets etc. ,
from < Library - Containers - com.realmacsoftware.rapidweaver6 - data - library - Application Support - Rapid Weaver >

How and where do I put this folder, or these elements (stacks, themes, plugins etc.) in the current Mac file structure architecture and RW8 setup?

I’m not a RW expert by any means, so please keep it simple if possible.

Thanks so much! Josh

In RW 7 and RW 8 you can put the addons Folder any place you like.
On the addons manager (button top left) at the bottom is a Addons Location.

You can also see where the addons folder is in Finder:

Since you already have RW8 being used on the newer machine, you could copy stuff manually(eg: stacks into the stacks folder, themes into the themes folder).

Of course have backups and have RapidWeaver closed.

Thanks Doug, that’s very helpful. I’ll give it a try.

Josh
