Need Help and Advice about a Theme

Hi, folks. I’m Larry the Marketer…also Larry the Techno-Moron. I’m learning RapidWeaver gradually for building my own websites for my fledgling business. I’m in terrible need of a theme that meets the below listed criteria, but I’m feeling very overwhelmed at all I’ve seen. If any of you can help me by recommending a few themes that meet these criteria, I’d really appreciate it.

Here are my criteria:

  • Fully responsive
  • Small customizable banner
  • The ability to place my logo in the upper left corner…and link it to the home page
  • A fully customizable footer
  • The ability to embed responsive video
  • Media icons
  • good blog page, versatile contact page, and a file sharing page where I can include descriptive text

I realize I’m at the bottom of the heap when it comes to all you experienced RapidWeaver techies who are gurus at this stuff, but this old man could really use a little help. I thank you in advance for your advice.

Foundation is the obvious choice, but I’m sure there are plenty of others which would suit your needs.

I looked at Foundation, but I’m a novice in the truest sense. Indeed, I’m a real techno-moron. Don’t I have to know a lot more about building websites, i.e., code, etc.?

Indeed.

If you ask ten people you will probably get ten different answers, such is the diversity and perhaps division among the community.

Have you seen Ruby by Elixir Graphics? It produces beautiful results, it’s intuitive to use while being extremely powerful and has several videos explaining its features. I really enjoy using Ruby and think its a classic RW theme that would meet your requirements.

Best of luck.

Thank you, kryten. I’ll take a look at it.

I don’t think Foundation is harder to use than any other theme but Composition and Media from ThemeFlood are extremely good and relatively easy to use. In fact, everything from ThemeFlood is.

I’d second Kryton’s Ruby recommendation and raise him Flood and Solstice from Themeflood - www.themeflood.com. Both very versatile themes that will do what you want. I’m also a fan of Stuffy from Weaverthemes www.weaverthemes.com.

Thanks a lot, robbeattle. I’ll check those out. Again, thanks much.

Thanks very, very much!
