@dan Congrats, nice new forum solution!
I expect that people would also like to have a “Dutch RapidWeaver” section on the new forum and in case moderators are required you can add that role to @henkvrieselaar and my account.
Cheers,
Joost
I’d still love a way to only see those posts that are written in your own language. It still ctaches me out from time to time.
@robbeattie
When it’s a category “RapidWeaver German” not a subcategory, you see only the englisch topics under the category “RapidWeaver”.
Just as it is now, if you are not clicking on “Recent Discussions”.
I haven’t received email notifications when there have been replies in threads where I have made a post. Is there something I need to change in my settings?
I can’t upload images as a new user so I have uploaded my preference settings here http://www.sunnymede.net/screenshots/1763.jpg
@ashleykaryl I believe you need to choose the “watching” option in the button towards bottom of screen. By default you would hear if someone uses your name (@yourname) but not otherwise.
@Mathew It’s strange because underneath this thread there is a note on Tracking that says I will receive a notification because I posted a reply. I was actually on the forum when you posted and a message popped up saying the forum would like to post messages via OS X notifications. It doesn’t send emails though.
It seems this is different from the old forum where we automatically received email notifications.
It is exactly like that. I’ve also noticed today
But, with the OS X notifications, there are no longer emails !?
Edit:
Now, emails and notification in OS X
@ashleykaryl Weird. I clearly don’t know the reasons behind this then. All I can say is I am getting email notifications to any thread where I’ve selected the “watch” option. (I belong to another group using the same software for about 6 months now, so I have gotten used to the “Watch” button.)
OK I set this to watch and received the email update. I guess we’ll just have to remember to set it manually every time. I wonder if that could be changed, so it’s like the old forum. Also the email update includes several previous posts but for the sake of legibility it would be easier if it only included the latest one.
Just doesn’t feel the same around here without all the spam like on the old forum
Unfortunately, it’s not just the spammers who are absent. There aren’t many new posts yet.
Only the people who pass by the forums regularly are likely to know it has even changed and I imagine Realmac will send out a newsletter to let their users know. I had noticed that the general number of posts on the old forum had been steadily dropping in recent months and I think part of that was down to the crazy levels of spam.
I think the announcement needs to be in the General section as well as Announcements.
They have closed the old forums, so people will realize this when they can not post there and start posting here. It will happen, give it time.
We’ll also be updating all links on the site and from within our apps to point here, so I’m sure things will start getting much busier here over the coming weeks!
are all the topics and my activities from the old forum gone now? I had to create a new user for this new forum since I could not login with my old forum login data.
They are still there and you can search them still too
http://forums.realmacsoftware.com
The old forum is searchable, all of your posts are there, but your number of posts will not follow you here.
thanks zeebe. that is what I meant. it is all gone then. dead as a certain parrot
