I’m going to be purchasing RapidWeaver soon and was wondering how do you save your site? Can you save to a hard drive?

Absolutely. RW saves everything to do with your website in a project file.
RW has it’s own FTP built in which you can use which ‘unpacks’ this project as it uploads into the different files and folders on your web server.
Alternatively, you can export your project to your hard disk and then use a third party FTP program - I use Yummy FTP - and upload the site from that.
