Preview always crashes - RapidWeaver 8.9.4

No matter what I do in Rapid Weaver as soon as I hit preview, it shuts down, every time.

Rapid Weaver 8.9.4
Sonoma 14.6.1
Stacks 5.3.0

Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear you’re having issues, but don’t worry, I’m, sure we’ll be able to get you back up and running!

First of all, can you try creating a new document, with a single styled text page and see if that is able to preview okay?

Even if i create a new document and it has nothing on it - preview and it crashes, put anything on it, no matter what and it crashes.

Can you try launching RapidWeaver without any third-party addons enabled. To do this, quit RapidWeaver, then re-launch it while holding the Option key . This will disable all plugins.

If the fixes the issue when not using any RapidWeaver addons, you may want to try uninstalling individual addons one at a time to figure out which addon developer to contact.

Oh, It would also be worth restarting your Mac to see if that fixes the issue.

Let me know how you get on trying those things.

Ok so have opened RW as you have asked.
Unticked
Enable Third-Party Themes
Enable Third-Party Plugins
Reset Project Window

So, nope that didn’t work either.

Now using MacOS Sequoia 15.1.1

I’m wondering if anything changed on your Mac - Did this just suddenly stop working?

Did the problem start before you upgraded to macOS Sequoia or after?

It started many months ago.
Before upgrades
I just keep putting off doing anything due to this.

Is there a way I can remove this copy & reinstall a fresh copy?

Hey @LBBooth,

You can download older versions of RapidWeaver from our Help Documentation here General FAQ | Classic Manual, including RapidWeaver 8.9.4 if you’d like to try to move your current copy to the trash and re-install.

Please note we stopped developing RapidWeaver 8 more than 2 years ago. We are no longer testing that it works on newer macOS releases, or on newer Macs. If your Mac is compatible with RapidWeaver Classic, we’d recommend trying to download a demo version of it from our website here The Best Website Builder for Mac - RapidWeaver Classic and seeing if you can open and preview one of the demo project files that come built-in.

If you are still having trouble let us know and we can take a deeper look at the beginning of next week. Have a nice weekend.
