Hello, had a big problem after using ‘clean my mac’ where somehow (probably my fault) I somehow lost my Rapidweaver application.
Being careful, I had everything backed up… so now have undergone a process of reinstallation, but am having problems installing plug ins - I get this message (in this instance I am attempting to add DooBox’s X sizer
There is no application set to open the document “1a759739_xsizer.stack”.
Search the App Store for an application that can open this document, or choose an existing application on your computer.
Basically I cannot install - can anyone help with a fix at all?
This is one reason why we don’t recommend people use such apps… they are typically crap!
The fix:
Trash RapidWeaver
Empty Trash
Restart
Download RapidWeaver fresh from the website
Open RW with your serial
close RW
Download Yourhead Stacks
Install with serial
close RW
start RW
Install your downloaded stacks and themes and plugins.
Restart RW
Don’t use software like this, trash it IMHO, causes more problems that it ‘fixes’…
Yup, back when I purchased my first MacBook (2008) I got stuck on MacKeeper… doh! I won’t ever install something like that on my system ever again lol. So, been there, done that, learned my lesson…
Thanks for the reply. Basically what was suggested is what I have done.
The problem I’m experiencing is with reinstalling the plug ins. I get the error message I mentioned in my first post, and I’m looking for help in resolving that issue if anyone can offer some advice!
When in RapidWeaver 6, hold down Command-Option keys and push the 7 key. This opens the RapidWeaver Add-ons folder. In that folder are other folders for stacks and themes, plugins just need to go directly in that folder.
In the finder, go to the go window and hold down the option key. This will bring up a folder in the list called Library. Click on Library. Then find Application Support and open it, then find RapidWeaver and that is the add-ons area. Open that and drag and drop the plugins into that folder.
