The only issues I’m aware of is older plugins not being compatible(not notarized).

Hello Weavers, The good news is that RapidWeaver 8.4 appears to be compatible with macOS Catalina, the bad news is that all third-party plugins will need to be updated. I believe pretty much every plugin from YourHead works just fine (just make sure you have the latest versions), however your millage may vary regarding other third-party plugins. You’ll want to check with the plugin developers before updating to Catalina. Any plugin that is no longer in development will not work with Catalina.…

if I want to write the slogan or title into to general I have to do it one letter at a time because the cursor will not hold still in the write-in box for more than one letter at a time.

The only time I see that behavior is if you are in preview mode while trying to edit settings.

You would need to be more specific. Banners should work properly if the theme supports them.
