RapidWeaver 7.3 - Tell us what you need!

I did email RW support. Sorry for the harsh response in the forum. I thought that this was a response to my support request email where I laid out my issue in more detail.

Still, your response needs to be better worded as you came off representing RW as passing the buck without fully understanding the issue.

Itā€™s very strange that Iā€™ve never had that issue.

Logic dictates that if it were a problem with the code in the ā€œDamn Productā€, we would all have the same issue.

Neil,

Glad you are not experiencing the same issue I have. Your logic is faulty in that you expect each instance to act the same as what you have installed. I do appreciate your opinion but it is just that. By your logic if you didnā€™t experience the issue then the issue does not exist. Please think about your premise.

Please tell that to the people that had Samsung phones that exploded. I guess the people that didnā€™t have that happen to them wouldnā€™t recognize there was an issue either. Every issue has several variables and can create different results hence why science is not exact and we form a hypothesis. When enough significant tests have the same result we make an assumption that something is true.

Yes, I must have a different version of RapidWeaver than you; one that works without issue.

Not real happy with RapidWeaver v7. I have had constant problems with items that I have purchased suddenly either disappear or require that I re-register them. This is not what I expect from a version 7 product. I have been using RW since v4 with success. There are always growing pains with each upgrade but I expect that my data and my additional purchases for add ons will be protected and secure. With version 7 this is not the case. What the hell is wrong with RW7 that it causes this behavior?

I have client sites that I have built with your software. Including the upgrades that I have paid for I also have spend hundreds and most probably thousands of dollars on plugins and stacks to go with your software. I am in the market now for a new MBP. The only reason I donā€™t go back to Windows right now is YOUR SOFTWARE and the investment I have in it.

Please fix this behavior before I am forced to seek other remedies to have this problem resolved. The issue I am having is a recurring issue and I have gone to the forum about it with no response.

I have lost and had to re-download stacks, specifically the Photoā€™s stack from Nick Cates when I did updates to one of my sites and the stack was just GONE! In itā€™s place the stacks where Photos would be were replaced with ā€œTemplateā€ as the name of the stack. I also had another page on a separate Web site that had a download content stack that just disappeared. Same issue in itā€™s place a ā€œTemplateā€ stack was in itā€™s place. I donā€™t even remember what stack I used for that one so I had to go buy a new stack that had the same functionality.

You ask in the Forum what updates we would like to see in 7.3. I have provided my response 2 times. FIX YOUR SOFTWARE so I do not lose plugins, stacks, themes or DATA. If I canā€™t trust that the software is secure and will protect my data and code then it is useless for itā€™s intended purpose.

I expect a full and complete reply including steps to have this issue addressed and progress reports moving forward. I expect that this will take a top priority in your next update as this is a SHOW STOPPER. I do software design and updates for a living, this is not acceptable. I am not sure how you are doing UAT or QA but clearly you are missing some important aspects of your quality control and regression testing.

Sincerely,

Keith Flanagan

I know some people working every day with RW (I do) and donā€™t have these problems. If I were you I would check my Installation. If you own so many stacks ā€“ how old are they? Do no need them all for your work? Maybe it is time for a spring cleaning, IMHO.
