RapidWeaver 7.5.5 Error Message

Hello,
When I hit the preview button I get this message:

Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required ‘/Users/macdaddytrance/Desktop/Web Downloads/RapidWeaver 7.app/Contents/Resources/RWWebServerLaunch.php’ (include_path=’.:’) in Unknown on line 0

@Shampen,

Could this portion of the path indicate that you downloaded something and moved it:

…macdaddytrance/Desktop/Web Downloads/Rapid…

because a downloads folder on your desktop (by the looks of it) would be an unusual - and probably undesirable - place to keep RW resources.

Is this a new - or recently changed - installation of RW?

Unless there is a good reason to do otherwise, RW should be left untouched in your /Applications directory; any addons moved to a recommended location; and all data (= sites built using RW) placed in the same folder hierarchy in your home/user (or Documents) folders.

When I Purchased RapidWeaver it was in the web download folder, I have since moved it to the document folder, and I renamed the website, and now the preview button is working. I am having problems with the hosting company called, dot5hosting. I have all of the information concerning their server right, but I’m still getting an error message saying that rapid Weaver cannot connect with their server.

You should be running it out of your applications folder.

Probably need to give a bit more information to get help. Screenshot of your settings, when you get the message (test or live publish), etc.?

This is a SS of the Settings page before hitting the test button.

I moved RW to my Applications Folder
