Thx!!! that worked. Really appreciate your help! I’d also welcome advice in how to clean things up!
Okay,
Glad to see if worked.
As for clean up
let’s start from the root directory
Delete the public_html
directory. The only thing that should be there is the http://pilatesperfectstudio.com/
directory.
Now go to the pilatesperfectstudio.com directory
`
Leave the following directories alone the rest should be ok to delete
- logs
- public_ftp
- public_html
- webstats
Hi Doug
Thank you for your help with my publishing issues. I periodically still have issues publishing changes. With that, can you help me “clean things up” in the directory? Maybe that will help?
That makes sense now. You’ve got quite a bit of a mess out on the server that should be cleaned up.
Try that directory and if it works (after clearing the browser cache) report back and we can figure out how to clean things up.
You instructed me to delete the root directory. Sorry to be so lame but I can’t delete the public_html folder. I highlight and control click or try to drag and it won’t let me. Pls advise what action to take to delete. Also, some additional folders popped up. Should I delete them as well? See new image
You won’t be able to delete them from there. That’s part of Rapidweaver’s publishing setup. You’ll need to use an FTP program to access the web server and then you can delete files and folders - with care, following Doug’s instructions - using that. Or if you have access to your hosting - using something like CPanel - that will also have a file manager where you can get the same result.
I do have access to the hosting/file manager. Should I delete them from there or wait until Doug’s instructions?
No, I didn’t say that, I said starting at the root directly, to Delete the public_html directory inside the root directory
Then change to that directory and leave the directories I listed above.
You can use the file manager to delete, I usually use an FTP app, you can use what you are comfortable with. You might want to back up stuff before you delete.
I doubt that the mess is causing publishing problems unless you have run out of space.
