Dear all
I feel lost - after some troubles with my mac, I have it now with RW
I am using RW 8.9.4 and like to rework my different websites.
As soon as I start RW it tells me that it failed and need some updates. If I start the updates and relounch RW it tells me the same story on and on.
If I try to open one of my existing projects - they will not open because either stacks is missing and some themes.
I am working on a iMac of 2013 and using macOS Sequoia (15.4.1)
I appreciate your help in advance
Cheers
Roland

I’m sure we’ll be able to get you back up and running!
Can you post a screenshot of this error - will help us diagnose and point you in the right direction.
You’ll need to install the stacks plugin, any third-party stacks, and themes you were using.
If you’re planning on reworking your websites, have you considered rebuilding them in Elements instead?
Hello Dan
I appreciate your answer very much - since I feel really lost
Please find attached the 3 screenshots of the messages which pop up.
This is the first messages which appears
Then - if I accept the update
and after relaunch it starts all over again
Concerning elements - I have purchased it already but to rebuild the whole page it will take a while and until that time - I would like to update the page first
Would that make sense to you?
Very kind regards
Roland
Dear Dan
Please excuse me - additionally the screen shot of the project when I like to open it
(after canceling the updates !!)
Next to that - I tried do reinstall stacks 3.6.9 manually - which was not working either
Cheers

It appears you have some third-party plugins that are no longer supported. Do you still use any or all of these on your website? From the dialog, I’m guessing it’s just Stacks that you still use.
Go to the RapidWeaver Preferences, and choose Add-ons and Plugins.
You can then right-click on the plugins that are no longer compatible and delete them.
After deleting the plugins, you can visit the third-party developers’ website and download the latest Stacks plugin that will work with your machine.
Hope that helps.
Dear Dan
thank you very much for the fast answer
unfortunately it shows the following infomation on Addons:
and, …
I am not able to install new stacks
Shall I reinstall the complete RW including the themes, addons etc?
Kind Regards
Roland

Stacks 3.xxx is super old and may not work with RW8. Even though you upgraded to a newer version of 3, it may be the case that version 4 or later is needed.

That’s great!
Press the “Reveal in Finder” button and make sure to move the old Stacks, Flow, Blocks, and Accordion plugins to the trash.
You should then be ready to install the latest copy of Stacks, and re-open your project
Hello Dan
Wow - it worked on my laptop - but unforntunately not on my desktop - same behavior - shall I do a complete new installation of the rapid weaver 8?
I am so glad that I can handle it again on my laptop - Thank you so much
Cheers
