RW Classic 9.2.1 not publishing

Hello RW community. I’ve got the RW Classic 9.2.1 publishing to GoDaddy. I’ve been publishing for about 10 years using a series of RW versions and have had GoDaddy from the start. This is nothing new to me and I’ve been using RW 9 for about a year - maybe. I’m old and can’t remember these details.

This morning I updated my page and clicked to publish and RW opened the typical export window and shows the pages trying to upload but then it just closed and the site did not publish with no reasoning, warning, explanations. I tried to post a YouTube video of my issue but the community page will not allow the link.

What I’ve done so far.
Checked for RW updates - I’m good
Restarted RW - several times
Restarted system - several times
Updated OS
Tested RW connection to GoDaddy - All Good
Clicked to republish all files
Checked GoDaddy site for possible service interruptions - none listed
Enabled “upload logging”, restarted RW - same issue

I’m at a loss at this point. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Sorry to hear you’re having issues, but don’t worry I’m sure we’ll be able to get you back up and running. Hang in there!

Publishing can sometimes stop working due to server changes/updates. If you’re using FTP, I’d recommend switching to an SFTP, it’s more secure and reliable! You’ll probably need to contact GoDaddy to check on the details and port you should be using.

We have a full guide here on how to fix Publishing issues, it’s well worth working through it to see if anything there fixes it for you.

I’m also cc’ing @dang in on this thread as he’s the king of fixing Publishing issues!

Hi @wnjsmith,

Perhaps it’s an issue on GoDaddy’s side. Did you try contacting them to see if they can check their FTP authentication logs to see if any errors are popping up?

You can send your publishing logs to us per our guide here if you’re not getting anywhere with GoDaddy. We can check to see if there’s any errors popping up in our logging.

I just got off the phone with them and they said they are not seeing any errors on their end. They mentioned no SSL but I’ve never had at this time so that should not be the issue in the particular case.

So, I deleted all the files on Godaddy and nothing works at all now. Not even communication between RW and GoDaddy which did work before. I think I’m just getting out of it. It’s not like I ever had that much traffic anyway.

Thanks for you help guys.

Pretty sure we could help get it working again, or at least point you in the right direction.

If you’d like to try and troubleshoot over a Zoom call feel free to send me a direct message here and we can get something scheduled.

Yeah, I’m sure it could happen. It’s a site I’ve had for over ten years that was just an informational site that I could share with. Everything I was looking at talked about how bad GoDaddy is and my subscription was up in four days. It’s a good time to quit. If I get the urge, I’ll host somewhere else.

How much did you pay for Godaddy
just had a look…I use One.com and mine just renewed at £101. first year is £60 ish…never had any problems really and always help available.

I also started with Godaddy years ago, but too often pages loaded slowly or there was only half an image. Site5 was much better until they sold out to a big corporation. I finally switched to Chillidog and haven’t looked back.

I’m not sure because it was i was on an auto pay. Seems like it was 150 a year or so.

seriously!!! I payed £100 but dont use their web design page at one.com as thats extra but if your using elements or rapidweaver classic thats not a problem…
