Once a web site using the Foundation Theme and Joe Workman’s stacks for Foundations is uploaded to a web server, Is PHP or any other executable (other than Apache) needed on the server?
Don’t think so but you’d need PHP if you wanted to use the contact form. There aren’t many web hosts who don’t offer PHP – if any.
My web site provider, a university department, is somewhat paranoid about security, so I very much doubt they’d allow any use of PHP from a web page. That’s why I need to know@
SEO Helper and Structure stacks require PHP, and any contact form like @peterdanckwerts mentions will. The page does not need to be PHP with Foundation forms, but you need php on the server. All the rest of the stacks will work fine without PHP.
I’ve never heard of a university department which ran web servers without PHP.
True, but they might not allow access to them for everyone.
Exactly: it’s a matter of protecting security by limiting access.
Thanks for the definitive information!
