I am a member of Doobox’s slack channel, so when I click on the link for yourhead’s slack channel, I don’t get offered the opportunity to ‘get my invite’, I just get the password field. I have paid for the upgrade to Stacks 4 and am very happy with it, although there seems to be a small unexpected feature that I am ‘enjoying’ (It may well be some sort of interaction with another app), which might have been discovered already. Any chance of an invite @isaiah so I can check? Thanks

I’m members of probably a dozen Slack Channels and if I put in this URL:
http://slack.yourhead.com
I still get the email page above.
This URL asks for login:
https://yourhead.slack.com/

Note slack and yourhead are in different order.

To get an invitation to the YourHead Slack channel just visit this address:
http://slack.yourhead.com/

After you enter your email address, you’ll be sent an invitation. If that doesn’t work for whatever reason (it should – several people joined today successfully), but if it doesn’t, just send me your email address in a private message here or via Twitter DM or whatever and I’ll send you an invitation manually.

Then watch your email – it usually only takes a few seconds – and make sure to check your spam folder does not accidentally eat up your invitation.

Thanks. That worked and I registered. I see that my unexpected feature has been discovered, so I can get on with learning about the intended features now!

I have 3 Macs. If I purchase Stacks 4, can I install it on all of them?

The license for Stacks (and all of our software) is per-user, not per-machine. So long as you’re the only person using these machines, then one license is sufficient.

If you’re not the only person then you’ll need to buy a license for each person using Stacks simultaneously.

Sorry folks but just to clarify; I bought Stacks 3 on 1st June and have just downloaded the beta to 4. I’ve installed it and I get the banner. However am I best waiting until the final release to see if I qualify for a free update? And if so, can I use the beta in the meantime or is it best to uninstall it and wait…

The Stacks beta has almost** no limits – even when the “Upgrade Stacks” banner is showing. This is to allow people to try out the beta and see if they like it and if it will be useful in their projects.

So feel free to give it a try. It should work great even though you don’t have a Stacks 4 license just yet.

** There are a couple limits in the beta. It prevents publishing on very large projects. Using beta software of any kind on a large professional work of any kind seems unwise.

Thanks Isaiah, I’ll press on then… I’m only trying it on small sites… I’m very new to this Stacks malarkey but its totally changed the way I work and I’m loving it! Converting many old sites now. :slight_smile:

That’s great! I’m really glad you’re enjoying it!

To be honest, even with large sites things are looking very solid now for Stacks 4. We have only a handful of remaining issues – and some compatibility with older OS versions to iron out. I’m hoping to be at “final candidate” sometime next week.

Then I’m going to take a few days off to take a deep breath before the release.

@Isaiah - Have been using Stacks 4 and RapidWeaver 8.3 for the Realmac website and everything is working perfectly :smiley:

Hey How about this idea for Stacks 4 Beta… Why not create a system where you can send samples of the website to clients to look at as a mockup. This can be a all in one option within the stacks, instead of having issues to do so in other mediums… This can be a game changer

Publishing has nothing to do with Stacks. It’s a RapidWeaver feature.

You can publish the website locally or on a server for the client to see.

If i was a developer, I sure would at least try to get it done. But now i am design artist… so please u have the knowledge, Get to it and stop doubting yourself. Aren’t you guys good at coding and solving problems? who why is it an issue to at least TRY
