Switching from RW5 to RV6+

Thank you. I’ve upgraded PlusKit and FORMLOOM. Still getting the ‘infinite bounce’ when trying to open the site in RW5.4.1. In fact, RW 5.4.1 won’t open even if I’m just trying to start it without trying to start it from the site file.

If you remove the contents of the RapidWeaver Application Support folder (perhaps to another location), does it still not launch? Might also be worth re-downloading from http://realmacsoftware.com/rapidweaver/releasenotes

Ok, Emptied out the Application Support folder. RW5 started… started adding back in Plugin and PlusKit is the culprit. The site will open with other required Plugins back in the Support folder, but as soon as I add PlusKit back in, RW5 won’t launch. So what now? I’m getting a warning when I open the site that PlusKit is missing. Can I still progress and save the project as RW6 and keep the integrity of the site? Do I need an upgraded Pluskit for RW5 first?

Also, I’m using Accordion in the RW5 site, but haven’t found the upgrade for RW6, which I assume I’ll need to get everything current?

You can grab the latest RW5 plugins from each developer’s site: http://yourhead.com & http://loghound.com

If the project has not been opened and saved with RW 5.4.1 you may run into issues with opening it in RW6.

Getting there. Pluskit for RW5 must have been damaged or something, reinstalled and was able to get the site open and saved with RW5.4.1. Updated all other plugins for RW6, but when I open the site it keeps saying that FormLoom and Stacks are missing…even though they show up under the RW6 Manage Addons and in the Addon Folder!!! Grrr.

Still getting an error saying Missing Plugins: Formloom, Stacks, even though are installed and current. Any other ideas?!?!

Do you have the version 6 of these plugins? For Formloom, is it Formloom 3? Formloom 2 does NOT work with RapidWeaver 6. There are 2 versions of Stacks 2, one for RapidWeaver 5 and one for RapidWeaver 6. Be sure you have the correct ones.

They were all newly installed for RW6. I just removed them both and reinstalled again. Maybe I had the Stacks version for RW5 before, IDK, but now Stacks seems to be fine now. Still getting the error for Formloom though. It’s version 3.0.7 according to the file.

Any further ideas on this? I’ve spent a fair amount of time, $, and aggravation trying to get this application and add-ons upgraded, updated and working. I greatly appreciate all of the help, comments, and assistance from the ‘gurus’ here on this forum thus far. However, I’m still stuck with Formloom not being recognized as install… Of course, Formloom is the ONE thing I really need working and the reason why I started this whole upgrade process to begin with.

Any other direction I can go with this?!?!

Have you contacted Yabdab support about this? Have you deleted the FL plugin and re-downloaded it from your invoice and installed the new version, maybe it got corrupted? Be sure to restart RapidWeaver and ever sometimes your machine. These are just ideas, not sure if they will work.

Thanks zeebe. I’ll contact Yabdab. Tried everything else you suggested.

@zeebe Wrong! Formloom 2 does work with RW6. Formloom 1 does not.

Ah, my mistake, figured you did not update FL 2 since you released FL 3 around the time RW 6 was released. Sorry!

If the Message says that “FormLoom” is missing, and NOT “FormLoom 2” or “Formloom 3”, then that means you have Formloom v1.x installed and it will never work in RW6.

Did you install Formloom 3 by dragging it on top of the RW 6 Plugin icon as described here http://yabdab.com/rw6 ?

It says FormLoom is missing – not 2 or 3 but don’t see any other version in the RW6 Addons folder.

Never saw the drag and drop method anywhere before. Tried it and when dragging FL 3 on to the RW6 Application, it says that version is already installed – update or replace. I replaced it and still get the same error that FL is missing. The version of FL in the addon folder is 3.0.7.

@cmsk You need to remove the Page in your project that was originally created with “FormLoom” (v1)

Hmm, okay. So I assume that’ll mean I need to recreate the form then?

Yes, you need to recreate that old form
