Although most hosting setups use public_html or www as the doc_Root not all do…
My guess is Something has changed on the server. Log into your control panel on the hosting account and see what the Doc_Root is set to. (or tell your host to set it to public_html since thats where you are publishing to.
I’ll bet that the old site is just setting in / have a look in your filemanager on the host or with an ftp app if you have one. if that is the case you could always just republish there (But I would have the hosting co set the doc_root to public_html)
You don’t have any redirects going on in your .htaccess file do you?
Scott has you on the right track. I think it’s possible that if you look at your website files in your host’s control panel, you’ll find that there is a public_html folder inside a public_html folder. The new files are in the second-level one.
You probably just need to remove the “public_html” from your path setting in publishing.
Don, you called it. That’s precisely what the problem was. A folder inside a folder. Took out the public_html and it’s working normally. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to you-- to Scott and Mathew and Jacob. You’re the guardian angels of the internet and the volunteer saviors of us tech-challenged. You must have good karma the size of a mountain. Thank you all.
