I recently made a massive update to one of my RW sites (www.gscobadge.info) and disaster struck when uploading to Bluehost. I’ve had the site for a decade and it currently has nearly 7,000 files. Before uploading the latest RW file, I tried to delete obsolete folders and subfolders and that’s when the problem began. I contacted Bluehost but they apparently no longer support anything but WordPress. I know the wrong RW file now appears in the published site as it says copyright 2022; it should be 2024. Here’s the cPanel configuration:
If you copy https://gscobadge.info/index.html into your browser’s address bar, you will see the incorrect page with the 2022 copyright. If you copy https://gscobadge.info/html.html into your browser’s address bar, you will see the correct page (I assume) with the 2024 copyright.
The page’s filename should always be either index.html or index.php. I would delete that outdated home page with the filename index.html, and then rename the home page with the filename html.html to index.html, then republish.
There is a YouTube video here on how you should name your folders and filenames in RapidWeaver:
Cleaning up the file names really helped. There were a lot of ghost files hanging out in strange places. Now I have a few pages that take forever to load (Brownie Council's Own Badges) and links to a handful of PDF files open and then shift characters. Thank you!!
Yes that page is not loading for me, just spinning. Looks like there might be some kind of javascript error on the page. Seems it might be a stack on the page that is causing that. What stacks did you use to build that page?
I’m using PhotoPro. I bought the stack hoping to use its ability to alphabetize all files in a given group. Unfortunately, I’ve never gotten that to work well. I just went thru and checked pages that other users could not get to load. Turns out that all of the problem pages were still set to alphabetize. Switched them to no sorting and the pages load.
