What was simple publishing is now an unfortunate impass

Rapid Weaver: I have Rapid Weaver 6.4 and I publish directly from my Rapid weaver page. Why can I publish add ons on my existing pages quickly and with no problem but when I create a simple new page and RapidWeaver by default makes you publish the whole website, it suddenly stops at the end before it publishes it totally?

I get this message: Couldn’t upload to your FTP server: Couldn’t connect to server.

Any advise will be welcomed.
Thanks.
Michael

When you add a page, it adds the new page to navigation on all the other pages. So that’s why it needs to update all pages.

Without more information, that can be a hard one to get help with.

RW6 is quite old, but you could export the site (⇧ Shift+⌘ Cmd+E) to a local folder and use an external FTP app like Transmit or FileZilla to transmit the site to the server.

Thanks Doug.
I hav never done this but I will try this:

One rather irritating aspect of RW is that it will republish all pages even if the new page is marked as being excluded from the navigation. Another is that one may make one small change to a page, such as adding a comma, and RW will republish 600 or more files. I still love it, though!
